Attendance
At Burnham on Sea Infant School we recognise the importance of good attendance.
At Burnham On Sea Infant School, we believe in developing good patterns of attendance and have high expectations for the attendance and punctuality of all our pupils from the outset. Regular attendance is a central part of our school’s vision, values, ethos, and day to day life. We recognise the strong connections between attendance, attainment, safeguarding and wellbeing.
We have high aspirations and high expectations of all our pupils in all areas of school life, including their attendance. We expect all pupils and their parents to strive for the highest level of attendance possible.
Parents will receive regular communication about their child's attendance levels, with offers of support where they might be needed.
Absences should be reported daily to the school office.
Our absence procedure:
We take safeguarding very seriously and it is imperative that we know our pupils are safe, well and accounted for. With this in mind please can we remind you that any absences for your child/children need to be reported daily to the school office.
This can be done through a number of different ways:
- Ring the school office to speak to a member of staff or leave a message on the absence line (01278 782342)
- Report through Reach More Parents by selecting your child and click on 'report an absence'.
- Email the school office (office@bosi.theplt.org.uk
If we have not received a message regarding your child’s absence by 9:15am, we will call parents directly, starting with primary carers. These calls will take place by 9:45am. If we are unable to get through to parents by this time we will continue to call your contacts in priority order.
If by 10:30am we have still not had any communication regarding your child’s absence and have been unable to speak to anyone on your contacts we will make a final request to have confirmation of their absence. If we have still not received a reply by 11:30am we will consider conducting a welfare visit, which may involve the police.
