Welcome to Pelican Class

On this page you will find information about the adults that support our learning in class.  Our termly curriculum maps provide an outline of what the children will learn across all subjects.  More detailed information for a particular subject can be found in the curriculum area of the website.

Our PE days this term will be Wednesdays and Fridays. Please make sure all your child’s clothes are clearly named and in school.

If you need to catch up with us about anything we are available before or after school or you can email the office to arrange a time to meet. You will also find a class message board outside to write on for quick messages to be passed on to the teacher. This is to allow us to get into the classroom as soon as possible and start the learning day.

Please use Numbots regularly to improve maths fluency - if you need a new copy of your log in please speak to Mrs Vinnicombe or Mr Richards. The top three children who have either played for the most minutes, earned the most coins, or answered the most questions correctly will receive a certificate on Friday.

White Rose one minute maths app is also fantastic and free to download and use to improve maths fluency.

We are hoping Orlando the reading owl will be flying to Pelican class on a regular basis - please help by hearing your child read at least 3 times a week.

Teachers in the classroom:

Our class teacher is Miss Barrett.

Miss Stannard will be teaching Tuesday and Friday afternoons..

Our lovely teaching assistants in Year 2 are Mrs Olbrechts, Mrs Burnett, Mrs Wiles and Mrs Reed.  Miss Stannard will also provide additional targeted support each day up to break time.

Please keep remembering to read with your child at least 3 times a week. Children will be heard at least once a week in a guided reading group with Miss Barrett or Mrs Blain.
